Schwanger Bros president, Steve Schwanger was called upon to throw out the first pitch at the new Schwanger Bros field at Hempfield High.

Schwanger Bros has always strongly believed in giving back to the community. This sponsorship is just one way we do it. Not only does the sponsorship give the Hempfield baseball players a great field to play on but it helps lower the property taxes for Hempfield home owners.

Win Opening Day tickets for the Barnstormers

We need a name for the guy below. We like him and you’ll probably see him around in different places but we don’t know what to call him. So we thought we would make it fun for everyone and offer up four tickets to the Opening Day Weekend for the Lancaster Barnstormers in April.

Von Hayes at Hempfield High

Schwanger Bros. is the proud sponsor of the baseball program at Hempfield High. As part of that sponsorship Lancaster Barnstormer’s coach and former Phillies All-Star, Von Hayes, spoke to the baseball and softball teams. He also took questions from the players and the Hempfield coaches.

The Annual Schwanger Bros. Christmas party was held at the Olde Lincoln House in Ephrata this past Saturday. All the employees and their families attended with a fantastic Olde Lincoln House holiday dinner, presents and carol singing.

Mr. David Schwanger, son of Schwanger Bros. co-founders Mark and Ruth Schwanger, stepped down as President of the family owned company and his son, 20 year Schanger Bros veteran, Steve, has taken the helm. Steve is the third generation to run Schwanger Bros. The entire company was gathered at the Olde Lincoln House in Ephrata for the announcement on Sept 27, 2007.

Last night was Schwanger Bros at the Lancaster Barnstormer’s game. It’s on this annual event that Schwanger Bros presents the Lancaster Boys & Girls Club with the results of our K-Man promotion. This year the K-Man promotion raised over $3,000 for the Lancaster Boys & Girls Club. The Schwanger family, liking round numbers, upped the donation to an even $5,000. Steve Schwanger, President of Schwanger Bros had this to say about our association with the Lancaster Boys & Girls Club, “We’re very proud of our long term association with the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster. We feel that their work is vital to the community.”

As the Barnstormer’s season draws to a close we hope to see you out at Clipper Stadium one last time. Everyone from Schwanger Bros will be there Friday to see the game and to present a check to the Lancaster Boys & Girls Club. We’ll have pictures of all the happenings here afterwards. So if we don’t see there (at the stadium) we hope to see you here!

This Friday, September 14th starting at 7:05 p.m. If you’re one of the first 2,500 fans to arrive you’ll get a free Barnstormers cap!
